The Safari Lodge on Amakhala

The Safari Lodge on Amakhala Game Reserve is ideally positioned for a Big Five, malaria-free safari after visiting Cape Town and the Garden Route. The reserve is home to rhino, lion, elephant, cheetah, buffalo, giraffe, black wildebeest, zebra, tortoise and over 16 antelope species. African tribal design has inspired the intimate thatched lodge and unique safari huts.

Guests can soak in a luxurious double bath or splash off the dust in an outdoor shower before sharing the day’s adventures around the fireside under a canopy of stars. On a recommended three-day safari, guests can experience open Land-Rover game-drives, a river cruise, guided walks and a visit to the neighbouring Born Free Foundation and Addo National Elephant Park. Children over nine years are welcome.
