Set amongst 40 hectares of indigenous woodland overlooking the Indian Ocean, the Hotel Amani Beach is just 30 km south of Dar es Salaam. The hotel has its own beach, and the bay is a safe haven for swimming, windsurfing and snorkelling amongst coral and tropical fish.

Accommodation comprises 10 stylish en-suite cottage-style rooms, each with a garden terrace and hammock. The rooms are uniquely decorated in a combination of local and pan-African art pieces.

The Amani Restaurant, which opens out onto the gardens, serves breakfast, and dinner. Lunches, teas, drinks and sundowners can be enjoyed at the Mawimbi restaurant at the poolside and overlooking the beach.

Directions

Drive onto the ferry at Kivukoni after the fish market. After leaving the ferry at Kigamboni, drive straight ahead on the tarmac road for about 6km. You’ll arrive at a junction with a right turning with a big OilCom petrol station. Keep driving straight ahead, heading for Kimbiji. Don’t take the right turn. The drive to Amani Beach Hotel from this point is about 20km and will take approximately 40 minutes. The tarmac road will also turn into a dirt road. After 20km you will see a big Amani Beach Hotel sign on the right hand side of the road. Turn left onto the sandy road down to the ocean and follow the signs to the hotel. For a comfortable drive to Amani Beach Hotel, a four wheel drive vehicle is recommended.
