Situated at Port Beaufort at the mouth of the Breede River, Breede River Lodge is set upon the banks of Southern Africa's richest fishing estuary, an unspoilt paradise of natural wealth and scenic wonder. The largest concentration of Southern Right Whales migrates to San Sebastian Bay to mate and calve from May to November.

Bicycles, 4x4 trips and boat charters for fishing and river crossings are available. Nearby, De Hoop Nature Reserve has walks, mountain-bike trails, kayaking and canoeing. Close to the Southern tip of Africa, the area is a birdwatcher's paradise.

Each self-contained lodge has an en-suite bathroom, sleeper couch, lounge, dining area, fully equipped kitchenette, timber deck and fireplace. Alternatively guests can also stay in the hotel on a bed and breakfast basis.
