Camp Shonga is an intimate bush retreat, built in the foothills of the Lebombo Mountains, offering views over the African bushveld. The camp accommodates 10 guests in five individual tents. The tents are luxuriously equipped with en-suite bathrooms, including ball-and-claw baths and outside showers, ceiling fans, fireplace and private game-viewing deck. The central facility has a charming lounge, including a library and both indoor and outdoor dining areas, a spacious wooden deck and a splash pool. Experienced guides share their vast knowledge of the varying eco-systems with guests on game-drives and game walks.
Access by road from Johannesburg (approx 5 hours 30 minutes) or Maputo (approx 1 hour 20 minutes). Camp Shonga is best accessed by road through the Crocodile Bridge Gate of the Kruger National Park, from where it is approximately 14 kms to the Camp. Air access is to one of the airports in the area: Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) – 110 Km; Maputo Airport (Mozambique) - 125 km or Malelane Airport - 70 km. Guests are met upon arrival and transferred to the Lodge by road.
