Situated in central Cape Town on the fringe of the historic Bo-Kaap area, the Cape Heritage Hotel occupies carefully restored buildings dating back to 1771.

The 15 rooms and suites have been individually decorated to showcase the original workmanship and architectural style. An elegant drawing-room, smoking-room and library with Georgian fireplace provide congenial venues for rendezvous.

The Cape Heritage offers a wealth of modern comforts, but retains its age-old charm and character. The hotel offers 17 bedrooms (standard, luxury and suites), each one individually appointed to enhance its unique historical character.

The modern meets the master-crafted in rooms that feature high-beamed teak ceilings, 200-year-old Cape yellowwood floors and carefully preserved bespoke details. Throughout the hotel, sash windows reach up to high beamed teak ceilings and the original plasterwork preserved to showcase the original workmanship.

Each room has its own unique character, stylishly appointed and featuring original artworks by established local names and exciting new discoveries. And of course the rooms are exceptionally comfortable and functional! All beds are extra length king-sized, with individually sprung mattresses and a selection of pillows. Every room is temperature controlled, and contains a mini bar, satellite TV, international power points and free wireless internet access.

Directions

Directions from the airport to The Cape Heritage Hotel: On leaving the airport take the N2 to Cape Town city centre. After about 15km, the N2 climbs steadily uphill and bears to the right. At the top of the hill the N2 forks â take the right hand fork, direction Cape Town centre (north). After 3 km, and after passing the Holiday Inn on your left, take the Strand Street exit. Go straight on Strand Street through 7 sets of lights (ie robots!). At the 8th set of lights (you will see the Tulip Inn on the corner) turn left into Bree Street. The hotel is at the second set of lights, on the right hand side on the corner of Shortmarket Street. Park outside the entrance to the hotel. After unpacking your luggage, your car can be parked in Riebeeck Square car park, which is adjacent to the hotel. Have a safe trip!
