Situated in the picturesque Schoemanshoek Valley, De Opstal’s typical Klein Karoo-style farm buildings, including old stables, a wagon house, farm house and share cropper’s cottage, have been carefully restored to revive the old world ambience. The owners, Albertus and Matilda de Bod, the eighth generation of Schoemans to have farmed this fertile valley, treat their guests to wholesome country food and warm hospitality. Each of the 20 tastefully appointed, en-suite rooms have in-room fire places, TV with M-Net, air-conditioning, spa-baths and ample cupboard space. Facilities include a conference venue, restaurant and bar, undercover parking, salt-water swimming-pool and fax and e-mail. The spacious complex allows guests to enjoy privacy and tranquillity.
