Originally built in the 1940s at a famous watering-hole along the Lourenco Marques (Maputo) route, this gracious old hotel has been restored to its former colonial grandeur. New hotel rooms, themed to highlight Zululand's own cultural development, have been added to the original building.
The estate adjoins the Zulu Nyala Game Reserve, and game-drives, game walks, river-boat cruises and clay pigeon shooting can be arranged. Accommodation comprises 57 twin rooms.
The hotel is ideally situated for visits to many places of historical and cultural interest, as well as game reserves and the Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park. Facilities include a live-in Zulu Village, magical boma, swimming-pool and alfresco dining area.
