The Imperial derives its name from Louis Napoleon, the Prince Imperial, only son of Napoleon III, who was killed by the Zulus in 1879 near the Iiyotyosi River. The hotel has seen many changes over the last 100 years and the Victorian facade now houses a modern hotel. Each of the bedrooms and suites has a bath or shower, air-conditioning and DSTV. Guests have a choice of a carvery buffet or an à la carte menu. Light snacks are served in the Courtyard Restaurant, and pub lunches are available. The fully equipped function rooms accommodate conferences ranging from 8 to 400 delegates. There is ample, secure parking.
