Situated in a Natural Heritage Site and surrounded by wetland in the heart of the Eastern Highlands of Mpumalanga, Lakenvlei nestles amongst the pine trees of a 4 500 hectare forest estate.

The self-catering, thatched log chalets are dominated by open-hearth fireplaces and are furnished in a comfortable cottage style. Each chalet, fully equipped and serviced daily, accommodates up to seven people in either one or two en-suite double bedrooms and a loft room.

The main thatched lodge has a cosy pub, a restaurant and a veranda overlooking the vlei. Facilities include fly-fishing, canoeing, mountain-biking, birding, hiking and horse-riding. Conference facilities cater for up to 40 delegates.

6	4 Sleeper Chalet
	Luxuriously equipped and serviced daily, the self-catering chalets provide a peaceful haven from which to explore the surroundings. Each chalet is provided with at least two mountain bikes and a boat for rowing or fishing on the lake.	Rates on request.

	The chalets are majestically constructed, using solid pine logs of the environment they are situated in and finished to perfection with fireproof thatch. Exquisitely furnished in comfortable cottage style. Another charming feature of the log chalets is the fireplace (With a generous supply of firewood), the focal point of this home away from home. Directions

How to get there The Lodge is about 230 km from Johannesburg and 200 km from Pretoria. Take the N4 East, past Witbank and Middelburg. Turn left at the Belfast turnoff. In the town of Belfast, turn right onto the Dullstroom road (R540). The entrance to Lakenvlei Forest Lodge is exactly 10 km from Belfast, on the left-hand side of the road.
