The 45 000-sq km Lugenda Wildlife Reserve is an untouched and undiscovered area, teeming with wildlife. Situated within this reserve on the banks of the Lugenda River among towering mountains, Lugenda Bush Camp is a remote, exclusive safari destination. The Serra Mecula, a mountain of similar proportion to Table Mountain in the Cape, is positioned across from the camp. On the mountain there are sacred sites and Batwa (Pigmy) paintings, possibly dating back 4 000 years. Accommodation comprises four luxury East-African style tents. Due to the rainy season in the area, Lugenda Bush Camp will be operational from mid-May to the end of November each year. Qualified guides direct game-drives and game-walks. Activities include bird-watching and guided safaris.
The Lugenda Wildlife Reserve is in the Cabo Delgado province of Northern Mozambique. Lugenda Bush Camp on the eastern bank of the Lugenda River, amongst the Ngalongue Mountains
