Majeka House reopened in August 2011 after an extensive three month renovation and now joins an exclusive list of establishments where guests, cosseted and pampered, can enjoy fine original design and absolute luxury.

The idea is to offer a complete lifestyle experience where design, indulgence and quality is the norm. Guests should never need to leave their beautiful surroundings whilst with us, nor would they want to.

At the Sanctuary Spa guests can enjoy the ministrations of well-trained and dedicated therapists as well as a first for South Africa - the amazing Crystal Himalayan Salt bed offering the benefits of colour therapy and relaxation.

Makaron Restaurant is a calm sophisticated space.

Walking through the glass entrance which doubles as a temperature controlled wine cellar, guests will be confronted with the 750kg steel Gregor Jenkins table crowned with many copper light fittings. The dining room tables were made by James Mudge, who made the French oak tables with the beautiful copper inlays according to the specific design that Etienne had in mind. The chairs are an eclectic mix of transparent Victoria Ghost chairs by Philippe Starcke and revamped vintage chairs.

This is the perfect setting to showcase our menu where the kitchen team is dedicated to providing meals where freshness and quality of the ingredients is paramount. Wherever possible, vegetables and herbs from our organic garden are used.

The M-Bar is a modern take on a gentleman’s lounge / bar albeit with some romantic softer touches. In a grey and blue hued room an oversized Chesterfield is placed next to decidedly feminine French chairs, while smooth textured surfaces reflect beautiful lighting and surprisingly joyful elements like boldly lacquered tables and LED-lit bar.

The glass enclosed, well ventilated cognac and cigar lounge with its oversized modern interpretations of classically designed chairs is a beautiful room that will delight smokers.

The transformation of Majeka House is complete. It is more than a well-placed, well-priced, luxury boutique hotel for visitors to Winelands, it is now a destination in itself. If luxury and beauty are your prerequisites for a good life, or at least a good stay, then Majeka House is where you want to be. Whether your stay is a couple of weeks, a week, a weekend, or a mid-week night out, you will be delighted by the relaxed atmosphere and style..
