Mutemwa Lodge lies hidden in thick riverine forest overlooking a wild and uninhabited stretch of the Zambezi River and offers guests an opportunity to experience one of the last true wilderness areas of Southern Africa. The lodge accommodates 12 guests in six comfortably appointed en-suite tents. Each tent is positioned on an elevated deck, ensuring stunning views of the Zambezi River. The main thatched lodge has a well-stocked bar, indoor dining area and curio shop. Meals are served around a huge camp-fire in the boma, or on the sand banks of the Zambezi River. A swimming-pool provides welcome relief from the midday sun. Activities include fishing, birding, canoeing, sunset cruises, cultural visits and day trips to the Ngonye Falls, where guests can swim in the natural rock “whirl-pool”.
Daily commercial flights are available from Johannesburg to Livingstone where private charter flights can be arranged to a private airstrip situated in close proximity to the Lodge (40 min.). Alternatively road transfers from Livingstone to the Lodge can be arranged (3 hours). Mutemwa Lodge is also accessible by road from Johannesburg (1400 km).
