Wilderness Safaris operate three lodges in Malawi. Mvuu Wilderness Lodge is situated on the banks of the Shire River, within the Liwonde National Park, a 580 000 sq km wilderness area. Set amongst thick riverine vegetation, each tent has its own private view of the palm-fringed lagoon with its abundant bird-life. The tented rooms offer luxury en-suite accommodation for 10 persons, including a stone and thatch honeymoon suite. The raised main dining-room/pub/lounge area is under thatch and overlooks the Shire River. Nearby Mvuu Camp has 10 en-suite chalets, five of which are double room family units. Kaya Mawa Lodge on Likoma Island has probably the most romantic setting on Lake Malawi and has seven stone-and-thatch rooms overlooking the lake.
