Nibela Lodge, situated in one of Africa’s World Heritage Sites, has a unique diversity of scenery, fauna and flora and forms part of the Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park. The 11 thatched chalets, cradled high up in the forest, are inter-connected by spectacular raised wooden walkways that lead to the main complex. Guides conduct informative and exciting trails, where guests will see small game, abundant birdlife and marvel at ancient fossils. Quad-biking or visits to the Mangwazi Caves can also be undertaken. Nibela Lodge is conveniently located for tours to surrounding game reserves to view the ‘Big Five”. Nearby attractions include beautiful beaches, deep-sea fishing and diving on a number of reefs, mountain trails, cultural activities and a number of historical sites.
From Johannesburg:
Follow the route trough Bethal, Ermelo and Piet Retief then through Pongola taking the N2 South bound to Hluhluwe.
From Durban:
Follow the N2 north bound to Hluhluwe.
Travel through Hluhluwe town, at the fourth traffic circle turn left.
Travel for, 1 km turn right crossing over railway tracks; you are now on the Sodwana road (R22). (NIBELA Lake Lodge road sign)
On the Sodwana road, you will travel for 26 km’s. Turn right at the Nibela Lake Lodge sign.
Travel on the dirt road for about 4 km’s. The road split into three. Turn right (sign indicating Nibela / Sobhengu)
Travel for about 3 km’s to T- junction, turn right (sign Nibela / Sobhengu)
Travel for 13 km’s. The road ends at the Nibela / Sobhengu gate.
Inside the property, please follow the Nibela Reception signs to the reception area.
