Situated within the Big Five Thornybush Reserve, Shumbalala Lodge nestles under shady African trees alongside the Monwana River. The lodge has five luxury suites, all of which have overhead fans, air-conditioning, open fireplaces, glass fronts and private viewing-decks.
A maximum of eight guests ensures absolute exclusivity and privacy. Sumptuous cuisine is served on the deck overlooking the riverbed or in the candle-lit dining-room, accompanied in winter by a crackling fire.
Guests can spend lazy afternoons at the pool, read in the private library, select an African gift in the curio shop or go bird-watching. The lodge offers dawn and dusk open-vehicle safaris, accompanied by a qualified ranger and tracker. Walks are also encouraged for the more adventurous.
