Situated in the breathtaking Mfule Valley, Simunye is a remote Natural Heritage Site that can only be accessed on horseback, by donkey cart, ox cart or, on request, by 4x4 safari vehicle.
Created in Zulu tradition using natural materials from the valley, accommodation is in either a Royal Suite in the village or a stone-and-thatch lodge nestling in a cliff across the Mfule River. Each room is uniquely crafted within the rockface and contains a natural hot rock-pool bath.
Guests will experience vibrant Zulu dancing and traditional ceremonies and learn about the use of natural remedies, herbs and medicines from a true Sangoma. A two-day visit will allow guests an even deeper experience of Zulu culture and the ecology of the area.
