Tenahead is situated where three mountain ranges meet – the Drakensberg, the Witteberg and the Maluti – and lies on 3 500 hectares of unspoilt mountains, valleys and streams. Hand build by stone masons, Basotho style, it is surrounded by a treasury of flora and fauna.
The lodge has seven grand, en-suite bedrooms with open fireplaces which are lit throughout the snowy winter. Each is beautifully furnished for comfort and luxury. A library with over 2 000 hand-selected books ensures relaxation.
Tenahead has a wine cellar which is stocked with some of South Africa’s finest wines. A large selection of both red and white wines is available. The lodge does not have a bar counter as such, but guests will be served from the substantial well stocked bar cabinet. The lodge’s indigenous garden and natural water feature is crafted and cultivated from the alpine flora and materials directly from the surrounding mountains, blending in beautifully with the natural environment.
