Situated in the heart of the Big Five, malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve, only a three-and-a-half hours’ drive from Johannesburg, Tuningi Safari Lodge offers highly personalised service in a friendly and relaxed environment. The main lodge has indoor and outdoor lounges, a dining-room, bar, wrap-around wooden deck and rim-flow pool overlooking a waterhole. The lodge is made up of four luxury bedrooms and two family suites; each consisting of two bedrooms with an adjoining living area and a private deck. Fine cuisine, accompanied by an impressive selection of wines, is served in the dining-room or in the open-air boma under the African stars. Early-morning and late-afternoon game drives are facilitated by professional and knowledgeable rangers and children’s game drives can be arranged by request.

8 Bush Villa

Tuningi Safari Lodge can accommodate 16 (sixteen) guests in exclusive bush villas and the lodge itself has been designed in such a way that it can be divided for families, intimate groups or VIP’s in search of utter privacy - a concept that is unique to Tuningi.

All rooms at Tuningi and Little Tuningi have air conditioning, ceiling fans, gas fireplaces, en-suite bathrooms, beautifully appointed baths, outdoor rock showers and private wrap around wooden decks. The design brief was to create space by blending interiors with the bush through utilising retractable doors and windows wherever possible.

Directions

From Johannesburg head north on the N1 towards the N4 Toll road.

Take the N4 Toll road north west towards Rustenburg, Swartruggens, Groot Marico and Zeerust

Once in Zeerust turn right at the second stop street into President Street. There is a signpost on the left that says 'Madikwe Game Reserve/Gaborone' and a First National Bank on the corner to the right

Follow the R47 towards the reserve for approximately 97km

The first entrance to the reserve is Abjaterskop Gate

Pass that gate and enter Wonderboom Gate exactly 7km from the first gate.
